An Update Regarding Mark Rivera

After being free on bond for 2 years on 9 felony counts of sexually assaulting a child, former ACNA catechist Mark Rivera was re-arrested yesterday on 2 felony counts of criminal sexual assault of Joanna Rudenborg.

This morning at his bond hearing, Rivera was released on personal recognizance and not required to pay bond. Despite the fact that Rivera repeatedly violated the terms of his bond and--most importantly--the second count of alleged criminal sexual assault occurred while Rivera was out on bond release for alleged child sexual assault, Kane County has yet again refused to prevent Rivera from doing further harm.

ACNAtoo decries this miscarriage of justice and calls upon Kane County to remedy this situation immediately.
